Private classes

Filed under: Private classes — by shescraftycakes @ 12:52 am

Hi, Namiko here.

Yikes, it’s been ages since this blog was updated! I blame no one but myself, because Elsa told me she would be busy with family and personal stuff for a while.

I did manage, however, to upload some pictures of a type of private, non-Wilton class that Elsa teaches — gingerbread decorating for kids! These classes run about $20 per person, including the kit, and it’s a 3 hour class with set up before and clean up afterward.  Classes off the mountain (in the Lake Arrowhead/San Bernadino area) are between $25 – $35 per person depending on the distance.  Elsa can teach any where from 1-15 students at one time.

Check out the gallery – you wouldn’t believe that some of these gorgeous houses were made by kids. Who says you can’t play with your food?

Special thanks to Auntie Janet!

New Classes will be starting at the New Cafe Bakery The Bus Stop.  Details coming soon.

Don’t be shy…

course12.jpgNot sure whether you have what it takes to decorate a cake with flair? Check out some photos of Elsa’s first class at Citrus College (October 2006) and find out for yourself! This is Course 1 of the Wilton Method, and this is the only method of cake decorating taught at the college.

c1_citrus_college__a_.JPGThe first step in cake decorating is knowing how to make your own icing. Elsa’s instructions ensure that students can prepare and recognize proper icing consistency, and she will even teach students the right way to fill an icing bag. Elsa demonstrates each step thoroughly, from mixing the icing to piping perfect buttercream roses.

You will have the knowledge and confidence to create beautiful decorations. You also have the option of continuing on with the Wilton Method Course 2.

c1_citrus_college.JPGPlease note that cakes are baked and frosted before they are brought to class to be decorated! This is not a cake baking class.

Classes start in January, so don’t wait — enroll today!

I’m Namiko, Elsa’s blogmaster and technical person. While my ultimate hope is to get Elsa up and running where she can upload and post stuff herself, I’ll still stick around and lend support now and then.

Coming up in a few weeks: Gingerbread house classes, just in time for the holidays!

Welcome!
